Our last week of pre-production has begun and we have some fantastic new cast members: Lane Kwederis, Joe Pera, and Mavis Simpson-Ernst.
Lane is an actor, writer, and improviser. She has a BFA from The Boston Conservatory and has studied at UCB, The Magnet, and The PIT. In addition to performing at The Magnet she performs regularly throughout NYC with the indie improv team Power Nap. She was recently featured on Broad City, and has starred in many commercials.
Joe is from Buffalo and has been doing standup in New York since 2009. Though he misses his family a great deal, Jet Blue’s $59 tickets from JFK to the Buffalo-Niagara airport make returning home for the weekend feasible in both expense and time. Joe has performed his low-key Buffalo Bills and Declaration of Independence jokes in a variety of venues including clubs, theaters, subway platforms, and art galleries that are more of someone’s house than an art gallery, as well as at his own weekly show ‘The Dan + Joe + Charles’ Show’ (every Tuesday at 8pm at the Creek and Cave).
Mavis, age 11, is a young professional actress, singer and dancer based in New York City. She made her Broadway debut at age 9 in EVITA at the Marquis Theater. She toured with the Les Misérables 25th Anniversary National Tour of the Broadway production. She was cast in a co-starring role as Suzie Spencer on the new hit drama television series Power on Starz. Mavis was also recently cast by Project Runway and American Girl Doll in a Guest Starring role for a very special American Girl Doll episode of Project Runway (Season 13) that can be seen this Fall on Lifetime.
Shoot begins on Friday.
